Leanne's Little Dragons
(For Children aged 4 - 6 years old)
At Leanne's Taekwon-do 'Little Dragons', Children learn basic hand techniques such as punching and blocking, as well as basic kicks. Children develop co-ordination, motor skills, balance and agility as well as increasing confidence. They also learn how to follow directions and differentiate left and right. Little Dragons gets children into a regular exercise routine at a young age and is a fun social event, where children can interact with each other. Little Dragons Taekwondo increases focus and concentration, which can serve as a foundation for academics. Discipline and good behaviour are also taught in a fun and safe environment! These are just some of the benefits of Little Dragons Taekwon-do.

Taekwon-Do is a Korean form of self defence developed by Gen Choi Hong Hi 9th degree Black belt. Taekewon-Do was officially recognised on the 11th April 1955. Translated, "TAE" means to kick or smash with the foot, "KWON" denotes fist - chiefly to punch or destroy with the hands or fist, and "DO" means art or way.
The Taekwon-Do practiced at the centre is affiliated to the International Taekwon-do Federation (I.T.F). At the M.A.F.C we have special classes for Men, Women and Children with different classes available for different grades and ages.
Students interested in taking gradings to earn highly regarded belts can grade and achieve Black Belt recognition with the International Taekwon-do Federation (ITF). Also, providing students have the necessary protective equipment they can also enter regular Tournaments Nationally and Internationally.
Remember your first lesson is free and all you need is a pair of track-suit bottoms and a T-shirt to start!

Kickboxing is suitable for students of all ages from the age of 6 years to Adults.

Children are taught in separate classes to Adults as follows:
Little Kickers 4 to 6 years
Tigers for 6 to 10 years
Cobras for 11 to 15 years
Adults 15-16yrs +
A lot of children start training at the centre to build their confidence and perhaps to help them deal with bullying. Adult classes are very popular with the ladies as well as the men, as they enjoy the special Kickboxing pad work drills which not only tone up the body but also increases their overall fitness levels. Students interested in taking gradings to earn highly regarded belts can grade and achieve Black Belt recognition with NAKMAS National Governing Body.
Providing students have the necessary protective equipment they can also enter regular Tournaments Nationally and Internationally.

Fitness Kickboxing/Circuit Training
Fitness Kickboixng/Circuit Training is a combination of Boxing techniques, Cardiovascular and Circuit training. It is closely related to Boxing training but without physical contact.

BUDO JU JITSU
A traditional Japanese orientated martial art system of self-defence, that concentrates on the effectiveness of techniques against various methods of attack. Principally focusing on Randori and Kata form with emphasis being placed on striking, kicking, pinning, strangling, joint immobilising, grappling, groundwork, and throwing techniques.
Based on the instruction and teachings of the founder of Goshin Ju Jitsu Association UK Wales, the late Shihan Billy Doak 8th Dan Ju Jitsu, 4th Dan Judo, 3rd Dan Aikido.
Budo Ju Jitsu is taught with traditional values, modern ethics and practical techniques whilst remaining true to the philosophy and teachings of Shihan Doak.
Chief Instructor Budo Ju Jitsu Sensei Phil Powell 3rd Dan Ju Jitsu and Sensei John Scandone 2nd Dan Ju Jitsu, have over 20 years of
experience in this traditional freestyle martial art.
Training is held in a safe and friendly environment, children and adults welcome. Learn a practical and effective self-defence, whilst keeping fit, building self-confidence and making new friends. Classes take place at The Martial Arts and Fitness Centre on:
